Musical director applications due July 20 to Possum Point Players

June 29, 2025

Possum Point Players theater group is seeking applicants to direct two musicals scheduled for the 2026 season, “Mary Poppins” and “She Loves Me.”

“Mary Poppins” performances will run Friday to Sunday, May 29 to 31 and June 5 to 7. “She Loves Me” performances will take place Friday to Sunday Nov. 13 to 15, and Nov. 20 to 22.

With a large cast of 20 or more, “Mary Poppins” is based on the books by P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film. The score includes timeless classics as well as charming new songs written especially for this adaptation.

With a medium-size cast of 15 or more, “She Loves Me” is a romantic comedy with an endearing innocence and a touch of old-world elegance. In a 1930s European perfumery, shop clerks Amalia and Georg often don’t see eye to eye. After both respond to a lonely hearts advertisement in the newspaper, they begin to live for the love letters they exchange, but the identity of their admirers remains unknown. The show is based on the Miklos Laszlo play “Parfumerie,” which has inspired many adaptations, including the film “You’ve Got Mail” starring Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks.
