Nanticoke ladies host luncheon

July 3, 2019

Seven Generations was the theme of the seventh annual Ladies Expo and Luncheon hosted by the Nanticoke Indian Association June 15 in Georgetown, catered by Marilyn’s Catering and Desserts by Dana. Tina Pierce Fragoso, a member of the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Tribe in Bridgeton, N.J., and assistant director of Native American Studies at University of Pennsylvania, offered the keynote speech.

“The 7th Annual Ladies Luncheon was very informative this year.  The breakdown of the seven generations of the Native American culture gave all in attendance a chance to reflect on how it affects the past, present, and future generations to come. Thus causing one to look within themselves and how they can promote a change and well-being to all,” said committee member Karin Harmon.

The 41st annual Nanticoke Indian Powwow is Sept. 8, at 26800 John J. Williams Highway, Millsboro.
