Nathalie Langer to exhibit new works; reception set May 21 in Lewes

Nassau Valley Vineyards gallery open daily; show runs until June 1
May 15, 2025

The gallery space at Nassau Valley Vineyards hosts French artist Nathalie Langer during the month of May for a showing of new paintings in acrylic on canvas. A Meet the Artist reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 21, with wine and hors d’oeuvres served.

Langer is a visual artist based in Lewes, specializing in contemporary art. This is her first exhibition in the Cape Region. All works are for sale, and the last day to view the exhibit is Sunday, June 1. For more information, call 302-645-9463.

Speaking about her inspiration, the artist said, “It is a return to color, a return to self. I come from Nice, in the south of France, a place where colors speak louder, where the sea and the sky blur into one infinite blue, and where nature is a daily invitation to feel more deeply. As a child, I dreamed of creating – of becoming an artist, maybe an architect. But life took me down a different road, into the world of science, then into marketing, events, and eventually, I opened three coffee shops in the United States. Each chapter fed my curiosity and creativity in its own way.

“Today, I explore painting as a personal and emotional language. My work is intuitive, layered and filled with texture. I use acrylics, pastels, pencil, metal leaf and various other techniques that allow me to express that which moves me. Nature is a constant source of inspiration: the seasons, organic shapes, colors, my travels abroad and the quiet power of light. Each piece I create is an invitation to pause and reflect, a dialogue between color, form and feeling.”

The gallery space at Nassau Valley Vineyards is open every day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The winery is located at 32165 Winery Way, Lewes.

Currently, access to Nassau Valley Vineyards from Route 9 is closed due to road construction. Drivers should take Route 1 to Janice Road, turn left on Nassau Commons Boulevard and take the first right onto Winery Way.
