Nathan Bates Carnevale, had outgoing personality

Nathan Bates Carnevale, 27, of Rehoboth Beach took his own life on the morning of Monday, June 29, 2020.  He was born Sept. 28, 1992, in Beebe Hospital, Lewes. Nate was the  son of David Carnevale and Dr. Nancy Carnevale of Lewes.  In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Claire Carnevale, living in Bay of Plenty, New Zealand.

He was a 2011 graduate of Cape Henlopen High School and went on to graduate from James Madison University with a bachelor’s degree in sports & recreation management in 2018.  He had been accepted into the master’s program in occupational therapy at Wesley College, Dover to begin in August.

For the past several years he had worked during the summers and in between classes at various local restaurants, including Agave and Fins on the Avenue. His infectious smile, kindness and outgoing personality have touched many lives, and he will be missed dearly.

Due to COVID-19 quarantines, a service date is to be determined.

A post-COVID-19 benefit concert will be planned in the future.
