NBA season is coming down the stretch

March 29, 2019

The NCAA tournament is down to the Sweet 16 and the only real Cinderella team is Oregon. Oregon is a number 12 seed and they had to win the Pack 12 Tournament to even receive a bid.

Up to this point, the best game to watch was the Duke v Central Florida matchup. UCF almost pulled off one of the biggest upsets in tournament history. Two great opportunities didn't materialize. Duke only captured that win by one point. If that upset had come to be, an awful lot of brackets would have been busted.

The NBA season is coming down the stretch with all the teams down to about 10 to 15 games before the playoffs start. It seems like the young 76ers team has hit a wall this week. They lost back-to-back games to two of the worst teams in the league, the Atlanta Hawks and Orlando Magic. If they are not careful, they will lose their 3rd seed in the Eastern Conference, forcing them to play their nemesis team, the Boston Celtics, in the first round of the playoffs.

This week is Opening Day in Major League baseball. March 28 is the earliest I can remember this occurring. It looks like the weather is going to cooperate and we will not have any games called due to unfavorable conditions.

I'm going to jump way ahead of myself and just say this now. I will be very disappointed if the Phillies don't at least have a shot at making the playoffs this year. The acquisition of some really strong offensive players sets them up to make my prediction come true. It's not just about Bryce Harper, but also Andrew McCutchen and J. T. Realmuto. Oh, and always the pitchers. Here we go!

See you on the sidelines!
