DelDOT: New Five Points roundabout partially open

The Delaware Department of Transportation announced that the Plantation Road/Beaver Dam Road roundabout connection is partially open to traffic as of Friday, April 19. The roundabout connection to the Route 9 intersection is scheduled to open in May.
The Plantation Road improvements project which includes the new roundabout began in February 2023.
There are more than 10,000 roundabouts across the United States, and Delaware now has 32 in use, 11 of which are in Sussex County.

More information will be added when available.
The road markings show traffic how to flow through the new roundabout. At right are the entering lanes from Route 9; at top is Beaver Dam Road, and at bottom is Plantation Road. The entrance to Henlopen Landing community is at left.
The traffic pattern does not include access to Route 9. The entire roundabout is expected to open around Memorial Day.
