New music charity benefits Sussex County Alzheimer’s sufferers

November 20, 2021

Sussex County now has a new charity which benefits Alzheimer’s sufferers. Uniquely, Nana’s Music Box does not accept money, but instead collects donations of gently used music and music devices to deliver to various memory care residences including the Delaware Veterans Home.

Alzheimer’s Association officials confirm that music can have a positive impact on individuals with the disease by bringing them back to good times, increasing stimulation and providing opportunities to interact with family members.

Acceptable donations include gently used (but not broken) cassette tapes and players, CDs and CD players, records, MP3 players, iPods and earbuds.
