New thriller by bestselling author is topic of May 16 virtual discussion

May 12, 2022

Bestselling author Peter Heller will join an online discussion of his new book “The Guide: A Novel” at 5 p.m., Monday, May 16, sponsored by Lewes Public Library and Browseabout Books. He will be joined in conversation by author Michael Koryta.

Heller’s heart-racing “The Guide” follows a young man named Jack who seeks a fresh start as a guide at the elite Kingfisher lodge in Colorado. He is assigned to guide a well-known singer, but when a human scream pierces the night, Jack realizes this idyllic fishing lodge may be merely a cover for a far more sinister operation.

Registration for the Zoom-based program is required at tinyurl.com/zoomwithauthors or the library website, lewes.lib.de.us.

Participants are encouraged to support the authors by purchasing a copy of the book from local independent bookstore Browseabout Books. Each copy will be signed. Orders may be placed online at browseaboutbooks.com, by calling the store at 302-226-2665, or in person at 133 Rehoboth Ave., Rehoboth Beach.

Heller is the national bestselling author of “The River,” “Celine,” “The Dog Stars” and “The Painter,” winner of the Reading the West Book Award. He has also penned four nonfiction books, including “Kook: What Surfing Taught Me About Love, Life, and Catching the Perfect Wave,” which received the National Outdoor Book Award for Literature. Michael Koryta is the New York Times bestselling author of 15 novels, a novella and multiple short stories, as well as two novels written under his pen name, Scott Carson.
