Subaqueous lands applications listed
The Lewes Historical Society has submitted a subaqueous lands permit application to stabilize 170 linear feet of shoreline using 47 cubic yards of rip-rap in the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal, adjacent to the Lewes Little League along Pilottown Road.
Matthew Eisenmann has submitted a subaqueous lands lease application to maintain a 4-by-70-foot pier and to construct a 4-by-10-foot pier extension, a 3-by-10-foot gangway, and a 6-by-25-foot floating dock in Herring Creek, at 34477 Skylar Drive, Lewes.

A public hearing will not be held unless DNREC Secretary Shawn Garvin determines one is in the public interest or if a written meritorious objection to the application is received.
Lewes council to meet June 12
Lewes Mayor and City Council will meet virtually at 1 p.m., Friday, June 12. The group will continue to discuss slowly reopening the city. Decisions are expected on extending free morning parking downtown and outdoor racks for merchants beyond June 15, and the start of the state’s Phase 2 of reopening. Henlopen Acres budget meeting June 12
Henlopen Acres commissioners have scheduled a budget meeting for 10 a.m., Friday, June 12. The meeting will be conducted online. The agenda calls for a review and possible vote on a budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, and adoption of tax and water rates and fee schedules.
The agenda also calls for a review and possible action on the town seal, and an update on a book about Henlopen Acres. For more information on how to participate in the meeting, go to the town’s website at henlopenacres.delaware.gov.
Rehoboth hiring seasonal employees
Rehoboth Beach announced June 4 that it is now hiring seasonal full-time and part-time employees for the streets department. The starting pay is $14 an hour. Positions will require shift and weekend work. All applicants require a background and drug test. Dewey commissioners meet June 12
Dewey Beach commissioners will meet virtually at 10 a.m., Friday, June 12. A link to the livestreamed meeting is available at townofdeweybeach.com. Commissioners will possibly vote to approve a resolution to dedicate the Town of Dewey Beach Baywalk to former Mayor TJ Redefer. Other possible votes include a resolution to submit a proposed reincorporation of the town charter to the General Assembly for enactment, to authorize the Center for the Inland Bays to proceed with a grant application to enhance bayside resilience adjacent to Sunset Park, and to approve an ordinance amending the investment policy.
Cape school board meets June 11
The Cape Henlopen school board will meet virtually at 4 p.m., Thursday, June 11. A link to the meeting is available at capehenlopenschools.com. Members will discuss and take possible action on a five-year contract for support staff, change orders to major capital projects, and terms for the architectural/engineering contract awarded to ABHA Architects for the new middle school in Lewes.
Rehoboth planners to meet June 12
The Rehoboth Beach Planning Commission has scheduled a meeting for 1 p.m., Friday, June 12. The meeting will take place online. The agenda calls for a public hearing on the partitioning of the property at 21 Saint Lawrence St.; the renewal of the discussion about the Belhaven Hotel at 2 Rehoboth Ave.; an update on the 2020 comprehensive development plan; and a concept review for the partitioning of 54 and 56 Rehoboth Ave.
Members of the public will be allowed to participate in the special meeting, but with limited access. Members of the public who wish to speak will be required to preregister with Ann Womack, city secretary, at awomack@cityofrehoboth.com at least two full business days prior to the meeting. Citizen comment will be administered by a moderator. Speaking is not allowed until called upon.
