Lewes Parks & Rec meets Oct. 17
The Lewes Parks & Recreation Commission will meet at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 17 at the Rollins Center. There will be a discussion on the Great Marsh Park Master Plan and the commission’s bylaws.
Parks and Marina Administrator Janet Reeves has been acting chair of the committee, but was officially approved as chair by mayor and city council Oct. 10.

Sussex council meeting Oct. 18
Sussex County Council will meet at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 18, in the county administration building, 2 The Circle, Georgetown. Included on the agenda is a vote on the amended affordably priced rental unit program ordinance. Sussex council awards nonprofit grants
Sussex County Council awarded the following councilmanic grants at its Oct. 11 meeting: $1,000 to Milton Arts Guild for its expansion project; $1,000 to Clear Space Productions in Rehoboth Beach for its spring 2023 production; $2,000 to Children’s Beach House in Lewes for upgrades to its youth development program; $1,000 to Milton Historical Society for technology upgrades; and $1,000 to Family Promise of Southern Delaware for its eviction reduction program.
Special Rehoboth meeting set Oct. 19
Rehoboth Beach commissioners have scheduled a special meeting for 11:45 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 19.
The agenda calls for a possible executive session to discuss the qualifications of individual candidates for Rehoboth Beach city manager.
The meeting will be conducted in the commissioners room of city hall, 229 Rehoboth Ave. A full agenda, meeting materials and a livestream are accessible at cityofrehoboth.civicweb.net.

RD20 Dems to meet Oct. 20
The Delaware 20th Representative District’s Democratic Committee will hold its regular monthly committee meeting at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 20, at Grotto Pizza Grand Slam, Lewes. An informal social gathering for Dutch treat dinner starts at 5:30 p.m. with a chance to visit with RD20’s committee members and Democratic candidates.
The primary focus of the meeting will be on opportunities to work on activities to get out the vote for candidates Stell Parker Selby, State House District 20, and Russ Huxtable, Delaware 6th Senate seat.
