Public can comment on park restaurant
The public will have a chance to comment on the proposed plan for a restaurant in Cape Henlopen State Park during the Parks and Recreation Council meeting at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 3, at the Killens Pond Nature Center, 5025 Killens Pond Road off Route 13 north of Felton.
State parks staff are in the process of evaluating the feasibility of a restaurant proposed to be built on the northern end of the main beach entry and bathhouse/concessions building parking lot.
Sussex P&Z meeting set Nov. 3
Sussex County Planning & Zoning Commission will meet at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 3, in the county administration building, 2 The Circle, Georgetown. Lewes ethics board to meet Nov. 3
The Lewes Board of Ethics will meet at 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 3, at City Hall.
There will be an election of officers preceding an executive session to consider a complaint.
After the executive session, the complaint will be discussed before the board issues a statement.

Lewes HPARC will meet Nov. 3
The Lewes Historic Preservation Architectural Review Commission will meet at 6 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 3, at City Hall.
Commissioners will discuss the Lewes Fire Department request for an addition, Cathy Auckland’s desire to build a new shed at 110 E. Fourth St., construction of a new home at 320 Savannah Road, demolition of 331 Chestnut St. and construction of a new home on the property, major construction including a swimming pool at 112 Franklin Ave., and construction of a new home at 11 Manila Ave.

Rehoboth to name new city manager
Rehoboth Beach commissioners will conduct a special meeting at 9 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 2, in the commissioners room of city hall, 229 Rehoboth Ave.
They are expected to vote on a contract for a new city manager and announce that person’s name. There could be an executive session before the vote.

Rehoboth audit group meeting Nov. 4
The Rehoboth Beach Audit Committee will meet at 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 4, in the commissioners room of city hall, 229 Rehoboth Ave. The agenda calls for a presentation and discussion on the audit of the fiscal year that ended March 31, 2022.

Sussex council awards nonprofit grants
Sussex County Council awarded the following councilmanic grants during its Oct. 25 meeting: $2,000 to Cape Henlopen Educational Foundation for its teacher grant program; $1,000 to Good Samaritan Aid Organization in Laurel for its annual Christmas basket and toy outreach programs; and $500 to Kim and Katy Evans Family Foundation for Sussex Super Hero projects.
