Cape Gazette posts early deadlines
Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, the editorial submission deadline for the Friday, Nov. 24 edition of the Cape Gazette will be noon, Monday, Nov. 20.
The retail advertising deadline will be noon, Monday, Nov. 20.
The classified advertising deadline will be noon, Tuesday, Nov. 21.
For the Tuesday, Nov. 28 edition, the editorial submission deadline, and retail and classified advertising deadlines will be noon, Wednesday, Nov. 22.
Cape Gazette business offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 23 and 24.
Lewes environmental group to meet
The Lewes Planning Commission’s Environmental Subcommittee will meet at 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 20, at city hall.
The agenda includes discussion and possible action on several environmental topics.

Lewes parks panel meets Nov. 20
The Lewes Parks and Recreation Commission will meet at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 20, at the Rollins Center.

The Lewes Planning Commission will hold a special meeting at 3 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 21, at the Rollins Center.

Lewes OKs basketball tourney money
Lewes Mayor and City Council unanimously approved a $2,500 sponsorship for Slam Dunk to the Beach during its Nov. 13 meeting.
The annual high school basketball tournament will be played Dec. 26-29 at Cape Henlopen High School.
Shupe announces re-election bid
Rep. Bryan Shupe, R-Milford, has announced he intends to run for re-election to the 36th District. The district covers Milford, Lincoln, Ellendale, Slaughter Beach, and Primehook.
Dorsey Walker files for lt. governor
Rep. Sherry Dorsey Walker, D-Wilmington, has filed to run as a Democrat for lieutenant governor. In August, Sen. Kyle Evans Gay, D-Talleyville, announced her plan to run for the seat that will be vacated by Lt. Gov. Bethany Hall-Long, who is running for governor.
