Milton board of elections to meet

Milton Board of Elections will meet at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 16, at Milton library, to discuss planning and coordination of the 2022 municipal election.

The board will also discuss the removal of voters who are no longer qualified, whether due to death or relocation.

Program to discuss police reform Dec. 16

The Social Justice Committee of the Seaside Jewish Community will present a virtual program from 7 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 16, titled Lifting the Veil: The Fight for Accountability in Delaware Policing. The program speakers are two active advocates for criminal justice reform in Delaware: Clara Licata, co-chair of the Legislative Advocacy Committee of the Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice, and Haneef Salaam, Smart Justice campaign manager for the American Civil Liberties Union - Delaware.

Lewes resiliency committee to meet

The Lewes Executive Committee on Resiliency will meet at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 14, at city hall and via Zoom. The group will have an open discussion of potential strategy options, criteria and information requests. They will also discuss increasing minimum open space for new subdivisions from 10 percent to 20 percent. A link to the meeting can be found on the agenda at lewes.civicweb.net.

Lewes planners set meeting Dec. 15

The Lewes Planning Commission will meet at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 15, at the Rollins Community Center and via Zoom. Items on the agenda include appointment of three members to the joint site development ad hoc review committee and a discussion of the scope of the five-year review of the comp plan. Lewes ethics code group meets Dec. 16

The Lewes Ad Hoc Committee for the Review of the Code of Ethics will meet at 9 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 16, at city hall and via Zoom. Discussion will focus on possible amendments to the code of conduct. A link to the meeting can be found on the agenda at lewes.civicweb.net.

Dewey P&Z to hold hearings Dec. 18

The Dewey Beach Planning and Zoning Commission will hold two public hearings at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 18 at the Lifesaving Station, 1 Dagsworthy Ave. One public hearing regards a draft ordinance to amend parking requirements and make requirements consistent in code and Table 2. The other public hearing is on a draft ordinance to amend code to change all or some zoning districts to possibly allow restaurants with less than 4,000 square feet of patron use to have no off-street parking requirements and for restaurants with more than 4,000 square feet of patron space to have one space for every 200 square feet of patron space over 4,000 square feet. Dewey commissioners meet Dec. 17

Dewey Beach commissioners will hold their monthly town meeting at 4 p.m., Friday, Dec. 17 at the Lifesaving Station, 1 Dagsworthy Ave. Members will possibly vote to accept a fifth amendment to the agreement between the town and Dewey Beach Enterprises which would delete the requirement for use of 4,000 to 8,000 square feet as retail space; another possible vote would allow the town manager to extend the temporary use of space in the structure as event space in connection with the convention center space, which temporary use expires Dec. 27. Commissioners may also vote on an ordinance to amend the number of discounted seasonal parking permits allotted per property.

Commissioners to meet in Rehoboth

Rehoboth Beach commissioners have scheduled a meeting for 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 17. The agenda calls for a permit of compliance hearing for Zogg’s Raw Bar & Grill and continued discussion on the redesign of beach patrol headquarters.

The meeting will be conducted virtually, with an anchor location of Rehoboth Beach City Hall, 229 Rehoboth Ave. People wishing to speak, who are not in-person, must preregister by emailing City Secretary Ann Womack, awomack@cityofrehoboth.com, at least 24 hours prior to the meeting. Sussex P&Z acts on site plans

During its Dec. 8 meeting, Sussex County Planning and Zoning Commission acted on the following site plans:

Approval of final site plans for Cardinal Grove, a 98 single-family-lot subdivision along Beaver Dam Road near Lewes, and for Tanager Woods, a 168 single-family-lot subdivision on the west side of Robinsonville Road near Lewes.

Approval of preliminary site plans for RRKS Investments to add six warehouses and an addition to an existing unit at 26850 Lewes-Georgetown Highway, and for Prettyman Farms for a lawnmower and small engine repair business, outdoor storage and leased storage units at 18583 Robinsonville Road near the Jimtown Road intersection.
