Blue Moon property in Rehoboth to be auctioned off April 21
The Sussex County Sheriff's Office is scheduled to auction off the Blue Moon restaurant property in Rehoboth Beach Tuesday, April 21.
The restaurant was opened in 1981 and listed for sale at $4.5 million in late 2025. The restaurant, currently owned by Randy Haney and Tim Ragan, has remained open since being listed and has a full calendar of events scheduled well into May.
According to documents from the county sheriff’s office, a little more than $3 million is owed on the property located at 35 Baltimore Ave.
The property comprises two buildings on oversized lots, including an apartment and five grandfathered apartment licenses. The front restaurant building is about 6,600 square feet with three floors and a basement. The rear building is about 1,830 square feet with two floors.
The auction is slated to begin at 9:30 a.m. at the sheriff’s office, 22215 DuPont Blvd., Georgetown, but the Baltimore Avenue site is one of about 20 properties being auctioned that day.
According to the sheriff’s office listing, 20% of the purchase money is due on the day of the sale. There’s a $4,000 bidder registration fee, which will be credited to the deposit. The balance is to be paid by Monday, May 18.
