Dewey commissioners meet June 11

Dewey Beach commissioners will meet virtually at 4 p.m., Friday, June 11. Members will hear an update on town charter amendments and a 5G pole update. Rehoboth’s task force meeting June 9

Rehoboth Beach’s Wilmington/Baltimore Avenue Streetscape Task Force will meet virtually at 9 a.m., Wednesday, June 9. The agenda calls for continued discussion on the draft layout prepared by the city’s contractor, with a possible vote on recommendations.

Rehoboth transportation committee to meet

The Rehoboth Beach Streets and Transportation Committee will meet online only at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 10. 

The agenda calls for a possible curb installation on Columbia Avenue where it intersects with Grove Street, and a possible request for funding from the city for streetscape design on King Charles Avenue to accommodate crosswalks and bicyclists.

Rehoboth green infrastructure committee to meet

The Rehoboth Beach Trees & Green Infrastructure Committee will meet at 10 a.m., Friday, June 11, in the commissioners room of city hall, 229 Rehoboth Ave. The meeting will also be livestreamed.

The agenda calls for a continued discussion on the city’s tree inventory, public education on ivy removal from trees, and green infrastructure components of the Delaware Avenue restroom renovation.

Rehoboth planners meeting June 11

The Rehoboth Beach Planning Commission will meet at 1:30 p.m., Friday, June 11, in the commissioners room of city hall, 229 Rehoboth Ave., and online.

The agenda calls for a possible recommendation on the change of zone request for 330 Rehoboth Ave. and a preliminary review of a minor subdivision application for 63, 65 and 67 Lake Ave.

Henlopen Acres budget to meet

Henlopen Acres commissioners will meet to begin their budget process at 10 a.m., Friday, June 11, at town hall, 104 Tidewaters. The agenda calls for a review and possible action on the proposed budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, including adoption of the tax rate, water rates and fee schedule. The agenda also calls for discussion and possible action on the Canal Pointe dock zoning amendment.

Lewes Board of Health meets June 9

Lewes public hearing set June 10

Lewes Mayor and City Council will hold a virtual public hearing at 6 p.m., Thursday, June 10, regarding a rezoning request for the former Lewes Dairy property at 660 Pilottown Road. The request is to rezone the property from industrial to R-2, low-density residential. The public may also comment on a proposed amendment to the comprehensive plan’s future land-use map that would be made to accommodate the rezoning. A link to the meeting can be found on the agenda at lewes.civicweb.net

Sussex P&Z meeting on June 10

Sussex County Planning and Zoning Commission will meet at 5 p.m., Thursday, June 10, in the county administration building, 2 The Circle, Georgetown. Included on the agenda is a public hearing on a conditional-use application filed by Carl M. Freeman Companies for a hotel and restaurant on a 9-acre parcel on the northwest side of the Lighthouse Road-Bennett Avenue intersection near Fenwick Island.

Cape school board meets June 10

The Cape Henlopen school board will hold a workshop meeting at 6 p.m., Thursday, June 10, at the Sussex Consortium. 

Members will take possible action on the boys’ volleyball club, the Cape High math curriculum selection, and board policies on homework and grading. Special recognition will be given to retiring Supervisor of Facilities Lenny Richardson.

Vaccine clinics at schools to start June 8

Aspira is hosting vaccination clinics at local schools during June and every weekend at its main clinic in Lewes. 

All clinics run from 12 to 8 p.m.  Aspira will be at Seaford Middle School Tuesday, June 8; Sussex Academy Wednesday, June 9; Sussex Technical High School Thursday, June 11 and Wednesday, June 30.
