Nicholas P. McGuiness, volunteer firefighter

Nicholas P. McGuiness, 29, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 19, 2022, surrounded by close family members. He had been bravely fighting a grade 3 anaplastic astrocytoma since February 2020.

A graduate of Radford University and a member of the Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity, Nick enjoyed sports, spending time with friends, and serving his community as a volunteer firefighter. He was fulfilling his dreams, living in San Diego and working as a supply chain administrator for General Dynamics Nassco up until the time of his diagnosis. He will be deeply missed by his mother and father, Elizabeth and Patrick; his brother, Alexander and wife Courtney; his niece and nephew, Madison and Liam; his precious dog, Marlee; along with countless other family and friends who loved him dearly.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date to be held this fall.
