Nicholas T. Pucci, avid sports fan
Nicholas T. Pucci, 59, of Frankford passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes.
He was born in Wilmington Aug. 5, 1959, son of the late Louis and Olga (DiSabatino) Pucci. Nick graduated from Indian River High School class of 1978. He was currently employed at Bunting & Murray Construction with over 30 years of service.
Nick was an avid sports fan and an enthusiastic Philadelphia Eagles fan. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Ocean View, a charter member of the East Sussex Moose Lodge 2542 in Roxana, and a member of St Ann Catholic Church in Bethany Beach. He was a past member of the Elks, the Jaycees, the Northside Park Men’s Softball League in Ocean City, Md., and the Selbyville Men’s Modified Softball Team. Nick was also involved in his son’s and grandsons’ sports endeavors as he would never miss a game, and also volunteered with the Indian River football and baseball boosters.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Mary A. (Gray) Pucci; two children, Jason Pucci and his wife Kate of Frankford, and Melissa Showalter of Selbyville; five grandchildren, Cory, Jordan, Nicholas, Christopher and Kaden; two brothers, Francis Pucci and his companion Terri of Wilmington, and Ralph Resine and his wife Toni of Wilmington; and a sister, Carla Paoletti and her husband Paul of Wilmington.
A prayer service will be held at noon, Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View, where friends may call after 10 a.m. The family would encourage those who attend to dress casually and wear your favorite team jersey. Interment will follow at St. George’s Cemetery in Clarksville.
