Nicola Pizza is moving to Lewes.

After nearly 50 years in downtown Rehoboth Beach, the popular pizza shop is planning to move to Ocean One Plaza on Route 1 in Lewes in the fall 2021.

“We will miss our downtown Rehoboth Beach family ... but we truly feel this is the best decision for the future of our brand, for our employees and our local customers,” a post read on Nicola Pizza’s official Facebook page.

They plan to continue operating both current locations until the grand reopening in Lewes.

“Please know that this was not an easy decision - to leave the home we have loved for so long - but an amazing opportunity has presented itself and we simply could not pass it up,” the Facebook post said.

Nicola opened in 1971 on North First Street. The second location on Rehoboth Avenue opened in 2010.
