For the first time in years, there are no July 4 fireworks in Rehoboth Beach this year because of COVID-19. Warm weather and clear skies brought people to the beach, but traffic was noticeably light. Earlier in the week, commissioners decided that face masks were required by everyone, everywhere. Due to a lack of manpower, it’s a tough mandate to enforce. The majority of people on the Boardwalk and sidewalks were wearing masks, but there was limited use on the beach.
