Nor’easter brings flooding to Cape Region

October 27, 2018

Heavy rain and high winds has resulted in significant flooding in several areas in the Cape Region. A section of Savannah Road between the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal and the beach is closed, as water from the adjacent marsh has crept onto the road surface. The Canary Creek bridge on New Road is also experiencing flooding, but is still open to traffic.

In Dewey Beach, Commissioner David Moskowitz sent photographs out to his constituents showing considerable flooding throughout the town.

In Milton, a section of the municipal parking lot is flooded as well as areas of Front Street.

Earlier, Department of Transportation crews were out clearing sand from a section of Route 1 near the Indian River Inlet.
