Oak Orchard boardwalk scene from around 1915
August 24, 2021
Oak Orchard, tucked between Indian River Bay to the south and Emily Gut to the east, drew summertime crowds in the early 20th century attracted by its quaint boardwalk, soft sand beaches and safe, shallow swimming area. This photograph showing one of the businesses along the boardwalk is included in an accordion-style package of 10 black-and-white postcards that were popular souvenirs at that time.
