Ocean Atlantic Sotheby’s International welcomes new Realtors

July 2, 2020

Ocean Atlantic Sotheby’s International Realty is proud to welcome Avi Gold and Cory Mayo to its team of experienced Realtors.  “We are absolutely thrilled to have both of these talented individuals on our team,” said Justin Healy, OASIR broker.  “We are confident their diverse backgrounds, work ethic, and client-driven focus will enable them to be invaluable resources for both buyers and sellers.”

Born and raised in Marin County, Calif., Gold developed a passion for the outdoors, one of many reasons he now enjoys living in Delaware. Avi spent his early days training at an elite classical ballet school and was accepted directly into the corps of the prestigious Houston Ballet at age 17. He became a principal ballet dancer at age 21 and spent the next decade performing with other ballet companies across the country. He embarked on his career in real estate in 2007, a volatile time in the market, and quickly distinguished himself by becoming an expert in lease-options, short sales, and residential investment properties, while bringing the highest level of service to his buying and selling clients.

Gold has also remained involved in the world of dance, creating the dance program at a private school in Middletown where he became the director of dance.  Giving back and building community are at the heart of his personal mission. Through his work in dance, he has created free education-outreach dance classes in local elementary schools, and dance programs for students with special needs, as well as performing at elementary schools and A.I. duPont Children’s Hospital. To this end, he is committed to giving back directly to local Delaware organizations with every real estate transaction.

Mayo is a native of the suburbs of Philadelphia, hailing from the small town of Swarthmore. He attended Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology and was awarded high honors throughout his schooling. Before becoming a Realtor, Mayo was the director of marketing for a regional builder in Coastal Delaware.  This experience and background enabled him to become extremely knowledgeable in new construction, where he is able to help his clients navigate the process of building with ease and confidence.

Some of his other passions include cycling, fishing, Jeeping, and spending time at the beach. Since 2014, Mayo has been captain for Team NPC, a cycling team with the mission to find a cure for Niemann Pick Type C, a rare terminal genetic disease. His team has collectively raised $600,000 which has funded more than 12 clinical studies.

“Both Cory and Avi are an excellent fit for our team here at OASIR, blending a strong work ethic with a passion for community service and support,” remarked Healy.  “We are very pleased to have them both onboard as OASIR team members and are confident in their abilities to provide extraordinary client care and market knowledge.”
