Ogre’s Grove in Milton held its annual Free Comic Book Day May 7, as cartoon lovers across the area were allowed to choose a free comic book.
The day is a national promotional effort by the comic book industry to attract new readers to independent comic shops such as Ogre’s Grove, run by Justin “Ogre” Sinnott. Free Comic Book Day was founded in 2002, and typically is associated with a feature film based off a comic book character; in this year’s case, Marvel’s “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.”
In addition to free books, the event at Ogre’s Grove included a prize wheel for kids to spin, and featured artwork by Rachael Barker and Matt Battaglia.
