Old Wood Delaware has announced it will open a second location in the historic Preservation Forge in downtown Lewes.

The company also has a location on Route 9 just east of the Route 5 intersection in Harbeson.

Old Wood Delaware is a full-service reclaimed flooring and furniture manufacturer based in Queen Anne, Md. More than 30 years ago, the owners purchased an old lumber mill from the 1930s and modernized the aging sawmill into a 40,000-square-foot warehouse and production facility geared toward manufacturing specialty wood products.

In 2000, they began making furniture to complement flooring products. Old Wood’s mission is to offer quality, one-of-a-kind products created from domestically sourced, reclaimed lumber and manufactured in the United States.

John Ellsworth opened Preservation Forge in its current location in 1990, operating a blacksmith shop in the barn until he moved out of town in 2020. He moved out 30 years to the day from his ribbon cutting in 1990.

Old Wood Delaware did not indicate when it would open its new location.
