October 18, 2025

One man died in a three-vehicle crash Oct. 17 in Lincoln.

The crash happened about 2 p.m., as a Hyundai Sonata was traveling northbound on Route 113, approaching Johnson Road with a Honda Accord traveling northbound directly behind it. At the same time, police said, a Freightliner tanker truck was traveling westbound on Johnson Road, approaching Route 113.

Police said the Hyundai was slowing to a stop for the yellow or red signal, but the Honda did not slow down and its front end struck the rear of the Hyundai, pushing it into the intersection. The Hyundai struck the left side of the Freightliner as it traveled westbound through the intersection. The driver of the Hyundai, a 68-year-old man from Portsmouth, Va., was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name is being withheld until his family is notified.

The driver of the Freightliner, a Dover man, 58, and the driver of the Honda, a Milford man, 27, were not injured.

The roadway was closed for about four hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.
