I read with interest Skip Rebar's letter to the editor about e-bikes on the trails. My wife and I own e-bikes and bike the trail exclusively because it is safe. I rarely use the pedal assist, and my wife has a trike bike (four hip replacements). We don't bike at high rates of speed, we slow down when passing walkers, and communicate with them on the approach. I have experienced aggressive bikers, but most of the aggressive bikers are not riding e-bikes. Outlawing e-bikes on the trails is not the answer.
