Overfalls to host sailing knots family fun session Aug. 13

August 6, 2025

The Lightship Overfalls will present Why Knot, its third family program of the summer, at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 13, on the grounds near the ship at Canalfront Park, Lewes.

Aboard ships, various types of knots serve different purposes. Participants will explore the ship, hunt for knots used by lightship sailors, learn how to tie some of them, and leave with a craft involving some knot work.

The event is free and open to children 5-12 years old who are accompanied by an adult throughout the program. To learn more, go to overfalls.org.
