Parrot Head Club gives $12,400 to Surfgimp Foundation

The Delaware Seashore Parrot Head Club presented a check for $12,395 to the Surfgimp Foundation Aug. 16, at the Wheelhouse in Lewes. The donation was the largest in club history. An additional $1,000 was donated to Children's Beach House in Lewes and to Lewes Presbyterian Church for its Community Thanksgiving Dinner.

The money was raised at the club's annual Boat Drinks Bacchanal, a fundraiser for Kent and Sussex county charities. More than 350 parrot heads attended this years event in May at Northbeach in Dewey Beach.

The Delaware Seashore Parrot Head Club is a nonprofit founded in 1996, whose purpose is to assist in community and environmental concerns. For more information go to deseashorephc.com/boatdrinks.

Surfgimp Foundation assists individuals with disabilities to participate in limitless adventures by awarding grant funding to help cover the cost of equipment, travel, lodging, support personnel/caregivers, admission/entry fees and more.
