Pathways to Success healthy snack drive seeks donations
Snacks for Success, a healthy snack food drive for Pathways to Success youth, is accepting donations through Tuesday, Dec. 30, at community partner drop-off locations.
Many of the Pathways to Success students experience food insecurity. They often do not have breakfast in the morning or dinner at night. It is not unusual for a student to ask the Pathways to Success program coordinators at Cape Henlopen, Milford, Seaford or Sussex Tech high schools for a snack because they are hungry. Snacks for Success will help.
Suggested healthy snack items include: cereal bars, trail mix, snack size peanut butter, microwave macaroni and cheese, popcorn, chips and pretzels, toaster pastries, and tuna pouches with crackers.
Community members are encouraged to drop off healthy snack donations at Tommy Taylor’s State Farm office, 16583 Coastal Highway, Lewes, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday, 302-644-3276; and Sussex County Habitat for Humanity ReStore, 18501 Stamper Drive, Lewes, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday to Saturday, 302-855-1156.
Starting Monday, Dec. 1, donations may also be dropped off at The Lodge at Historic Lewes, 1008 Kings Highway, Lewes, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Saturday. All locations will accept donations through Dec. 30.
Fay Blake, Pathways founder and executive director, said, “We are so appreciative of this support. The youth we serve need these healthy snacks to keep their energy level up and to support their problem-solving and critical thinking skills.”
