Pathways to Sussex to host fair housing town hall April 29
Pathways to Success will sponsor a free virtual fair housing town hall from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 29. To register, go to pathways-2-success.org/events.
April is Fair Housing Month, and this year marks the 53rd anniversary of the landmark Fair Housing Act, signed into law by President Lyndon Johnson. It allows everyone to have greater access to jobs and education in America’s communities.
Despite the progress, there is still a long way to go to achieve fair housing for all.
Each year, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and its fair housing partner agencies receive thousands of complaints from individuals and families alleging that they have been the victims of housing discrimination.
Pathways to Success remains committed to rooting out discrimination in housing. It joins all of Sussex County and the nation in celebrating a commitment to fostering the creation of inclusive, sustainable communities where every person who calls America home has the same housing and economic opportunities.
Those needing assistance regarding housing-related complaints may call the Pathways to Success Fair Housing Hotline, 302-858-4863, or go to pathways-2-success.org, click on Fair Housing, then follow the drop-down list to select: Help filing a complaint.
