Patricia A. Brown, enjoyed knitting

Patricia A. “Patsy” Brown, 84, of Milton, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023.

Patsy was born in Lewes, daughter of the late Alvin and Lydia (Jefferson) Beideman. Patsy was a lifetime resident of Sussex County and had worked as an administrative professional with Reed Trucking, TIE, King Cole, Happy Harry’s, and most recently, Walgreens. She enjoyed working and would step in where needed, including unloading stock deliveries. She reluctantly retired in 2020 during the pandemic.  

When Patsy wasn’t working, she kept her hands busy knitting, especially washcloths that were given as gifts, and she very much enjoyed watching “Law and Order.”

In addition to her parents, Patsy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond W. Brown Sr., and two grandsons, Kyle Pianka and Raymond Brown III.

She is survived by three children, Raymond W. Brown Jr. and wife Carol, Wayne Brown Sr. and wife Terry, and daughter, Rhonda Brown-Hughes and husband Jeff; five grandchildren, Gregory Pianka Jr., Kurt Pianka, Wayne Brown Jr., Desiree McCall and Rayna Brown; 13 great-grandchildren, Kayla, Hunter, Brooke Ann, Molly, Easton, Tyler, Brady, Khloyee, Raylin, Raymond, Olivia, Elizabeth and Bella; two siblings, Margaret Quillen and husband Pat, and David Beideman and wife Debbie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews. and extended family.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 8, at Short Funeral Services chapel, 416 Federal St., Milton. A time of visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Henlopen Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial contributions to Accent Care Hospice, 220 Continental Drive, Newark, DE 19713.
