Patrick Joseph McGuiness, loved life
Patrick Joseph McGuiness passed away peacefully Monday, Aug. 29, 2022, at home with his loving wife of 36 years by his side.
Patrick spent 30 years working as the customer service director for SAAB Defense and Security USA before retiring and building his dream home in Rehoboth Beach. Patrick loved traveling, surfing, playing golf and creating beautiful driftwood artwork. He was always the life of the party and enjoyed telling a joke as much as the joke itself. Patrick gave his time generously to people in need, helping neighbors and others through his church. To know Patrick was truly to love him.
Patrick is now reunited with his parents, Margaret G. and Edgar J. McGuiness; his son, Nicholas; and his brother E.J., all of whom preceded him in death. In addition to his beloved wife, Elizabeth, Patrick will be deeply missed by his son, Alexander and wife Courtney; his grandchildren: Liam and Madison; his sister, Genevieve Wilson and husband Gene; his brother, Steve and wife Kathy; his precious dog, Marlee; and countless other family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 15, at The Crossing, 15183 Coastal Hwy., Milton.
Final care for Patrick has been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium. Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Patrick's memory to Delaware Hospice, delawarehospice.org/donate, whose kind employees helped the family through a very difficult time.
