Paul J. Dempsey Jr., veteran, devout Catholic
Paul J. Dempsey Jr., 84, of Long Neck, passed away Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025. Paul was the beloved husband of Sandra Dempsey, with whom he shared over 30 years of marriage. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., son of Paul J. Sr. and Naomi Dempsey.
In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by his loving children, Paul J. Dempsey III and his wife Denise, Christopher M. Dempsey and his wife Mary, and Angela M. Richardson; grandchildren, Darien, Ricky, Christopher, Grace, Marquese, Aminah, Yazmeen and Yuri. Paul was predeceased by his first wife, Rita; and his sister, Jeanne Kelly.
Paul graduated from North Catholic High School Class of 1958. He was an air traffic controller while serving in the U.S. Navy. Working his way through night school at La Salle University, he graduated in 1975. Paul retired after 45 years of service with SPS Technologies as the leader of quality control. A devoted member of the Catholic Church, he enjoyed his family, loved reading, crabbing, a cold beer or three, and learning about history. He loved cheering on the Phils and "Iggles" and just relaxing in his backyard pool.
Paul was laid to rest Friday, Oct. 10, 2025, in Chalfont, Pa. A memorial service will be held in the future.
