Rehoboth Beach hosted its annual fireworks display July 5. Tens of thousands of people crammed the beach and Boardwalk for the show. CHRIS FLOOD PHOTOS The dune crossings are often the best spots to watch the fireworks in Rehoboth Beach. Like the hot sun earlier in the day, fireworks light up the sky in Rehoboth Beach. Typically, the bright-pink Candy Kitchen is one of the most noticeable things on the Boardwalk, but during the fireworks, even the pink is dull. For the 20th straight year, The Funsters performed at the Bandstand before and after the fireworks. Shown are lead singers Nancy Curry and Sherman Ward. The owner of this boat gets the award for being first to the show. By the time the fireworks went off, there were dozens of boats in the water. As usual, Rehoboth doesn’t host its fireworks July 4, so there aren’t too many people dressed in red, white and blue. It’s Rehoboth Beach on July 4 weekend, which means Rehoboth Avenue is a parking lot. The moon above shines brightly as the fireworks go off.
