Police warn of uptick in vehicle thefts

January 15, 2026
The Delaware State Police Troop 4 Criminal Investigations Unit is warning residents, particularly in western Sussex, of a rise in motor vehicle thefts.

In the past week, police said several vehicles, mostly KIA or Hyundai vehicles, were stolen or someone tried to steal them. Police said some of the vehicles were unlocked, and others were stolen even though there were no keys.

Police remind members of the public to stay vigilant and report suspicious activity by calling 911.
