Poolside kitchen and fitness facility opens at Kings Creek Country Club

June 22, 2019

The Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce celebrated the opening of Kings Creek Country Club’s poolside kitchen and fitness facility with a ribbon cutting June 7.

The fitness facility boasts state-of-the-art cardio and strength equipment, on-site trainers, two new pickleball courts and a new dining site, Creek Café.

General Manager Don Byerly said, “We are proud to open a facility that is on the leading edge of training programs and equipment specifically geared for golf and racquet participants.” He said the club partnered with Titliest Performance Institute to design the facility and select its new Life Fitness cardio and strength equipment.

Kings Creek Clubhouse Manager Spaska Hadzhiyska said the new full-service kitchen and bar will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. to serve a variety of meal options. She said, “From grab-and-go breakfast, to snacks and beverages at the turn between the 9th and 10th holes, to sit-down lunch, cocktail and dinner offerings, this new Creek Café adds an expanded dining dimension to the already excellent dining services available at the club. In keeping with the emphasis on fitness, the café will also be featuring fresh-squeezed juices, protein shakes and smoothies.”

Kings Creek will have two certified TPI trainers on staff to guide members in using the new fitness equipment, and selecting which fitness regimes are best for their needs. Byerly said, “In particular, there will be trainers who specialize in golf instruction and golf physical fitness, which will be a great addition to the golf program at Kings Creek.” In addition to the Life Fitness equipment, the facility will include free-weight equipment in a designated workout area.

In the new group fitness classroom, there will be a variety of live and virtual classes offered on an 82-inch TV. In addition to basic classes in functional training and TPI Fitness, there will be instructors offering Zumba, Pilates, tone-up, freestyle dance, boxing, yoga flow, and water aerobics in the pool. Byerly said, “Our personal trainers will be available for individualized training sessions and instruction, but we are proud to offer a wide variety of interesting group classes that will pique our members’ interests.”

Byerly added, “This new facility was also designed to be kid-friendly, and the staff will be able to include special kids’ programs, fitness training classes appropriate for young people, tournaments, and kids’ camps.”

The renovation also made improvements to the swimming pool facility, including installing a pool heater, which will allow the club to extend its pool season. Men’s and women’s locker rooms and bathrooms were renovated, and two restrooms were added with convenient outside access for tennis and pickleball players, and golfers making the course turn.
