Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation to host Caribbean Christmas Dec. 2

November 15, 2017

The Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation announced its Caribbean Christmas fundraiser will be held from 7 to 11 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 2, at Mango's in downtown Bethany Beach. The QRCF is known for its fun and festive events, and this year will be no exception. The dollars raised at this event fund scholarships and go toward grants to local organizations. In the foundation's 16-year history, nearly $500,000 has been donated to support individuals and groups within the community.

"Our all-volunteer organization partners with local businesses to raise money for grants for area nonprofits and scholarships for local students. With the help of residents and visitors alike, we put on three events, of which Caribbean Christmas is our main fundraiser," said QRCF President Laurie McFaul. The beneficiaries of this year's event are the Ryan Scott Kappes Foundation and the Indian River School District's Outdoor Education Center at Ingram Pond.

The Ryan Scott Kappes Foundation was founded in 2006 by Karie and Scott Kappes after the death of their son, Ryan Scott Kappes. The nonprofit organization provides financial assistance to families of critically ill children, so each family supported can remain together during extended hospitalizations. Ingram Pond, located in Millsboro, is an outdoor education center which provides elementary and middle school students with grade-level science, technology, engineering and math programs throughout the Indian River School District.

This traditionally sold-out extravaganza features tastings from favorite area restaurants; beer, wine and Mangoritas; live music by Electric Velvet; the signature Amazingly Awesome Auction; dancing and lots of holiday cheer, all with an irresistible island vibe. Tickets are on sale now and are $65 per person. To purchase tickets, visit Beach Liquors in Bethany and Fenwick; Bethany-Fenwick Island Chamber of Commerce; Bethany Beach Books; Cottage Café; Parkway Restaurant; and Mango's, or go to www.QRCF.org or call 302-537-7723.

"If you are looking to kick off your holiday party season with pizazz, Caribbean Christmas is for you. This signature event embraces the giving spirit of the season with the hip style of beach living. It is the perfect pairing of party and philanthropy!" said McFaul.
