RAL Annual Outdoor Fine Art and Fine Craft Show to open Aug. 6

July 26, 2022

The Rehoboth Art League’s signature summer event, the Annual Outdoor Fine Art and Fine Craft Show, will return to Henlopen Acres for the first two weekends in August.

Now in its 49th year, the event provides the opportunity for more than 100 artists and artisans from around the country to display and sell their fine art and fine crafts amidst the Rehoboth Art League’s 3.5-acre wooded campus, just blocks from busy downtown Rehoboth Beach in coastal Delaware.

The event will be held Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 6 and 7, and 13 and 14. Show hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sundays.

The outdoor show, underwritten by Jack Lingo Realtor, is a juried event yielding exceptional work, and many of the artists enjoy demonstrating their creativity during each day of the show. As always, many local and regional artists will be on campus with their artwork and displays in a variety of mediums, including oil and acrylic painting, pastel painting, fine jewelry, wood and metal work, photography, ceramics, mixed media and more.

“We are pleased to be the event underwriter for the Rehoboth Art League’s Annual Outdoor Fine Art and Fine Craft Show,” said Bryce Lingo of Jack Lingo Realtor. “It’s a unique opportunity to see neighbors and visitors to the Coastal Delaware region join through art and culture. The Lingo family and the many people who work with us all have a strong passion for the arts and for giving back to the community. This aligns with our overall goal and mission to Give Where You Live.”

The show is an unforgettable summer event full of attractions including great food, live music, artist demonstrations, gallery exhibits, beautiful gardens, and plenty of raffle and auction opportunities. The local community support allows this Rehoboth Beach tradition to continue, as the efforts of more than 100 volunteers are essential for pulling off this two-weekend event.

Visitors are also welcome to enjoy the current shows the art league has on display, including its 84th Annual Members’ Fine Art Exhibition, as well as solo shows Hidden Waters from Donna M. Finley in the Ventures Gallery, and Still from Melissa Husted-Sherman in the Homestead. As always, the Homestead docents will be holding an online auction of artwork donated by the outdoor show artists as a fundraiser for preservation projects in the league’s historic buildings. RAL provides complimentary transportation to the event with Jolly Trolley shuttles to and from parking areas at Rehoboth Elementary School.

Patrons at this year’s Outdoor Fine Art and Fine Craft Show will have an opportunity to win a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork generously donated by a participating event artist. This year’s work, “A Distance I Have Wandered,” was donated by Kate Meyer, an oil painter based in coastal Virginia. The winning ticket will be pulled at 4 p.m., Aug. 14.

The weekend entry fee is $5, with no charge for children under age 12. Tickets can be purchased by cash or credit card at the gate.
