RAL holds opening reception
The judge for the Members Fine Craft Exhibition was Elizabeth Deans, center. Deans is director and professor of design at George Washington University Decorative Arts and Design History Masters Program where she oversees the academic program and curriculum as well as teaches graduate courses in decorative art design and architectural history in the history in decorative arts. Potter Wes Stack won The Mary Trimble Lynch Best in Show award.
Wood artist Michael Quattrociocchi received the Award for Excellence with his jewelry box titled “Ocean View.” The box is made from cherry ambrosia curly maple.
Painter and RAL Board of Trustees member Steve Rogers showed his ship Helen Euphane. The Helen Euphane was built in 1902 at Toll Brothers Shipyard in Pocomoke City, Md., for the Taft Beach Menhaden Co. It ultimately found its way to Lewes in the Smith Fleet then sank and was broken up in 1989.

In the Ventures Gallery, Gordon Inyard showed his painting titled “Diners and Roadside Attractions.” Inyard has been painting these fading parts of America for 35 years. Inyard says,” My interest in the subject matter has never waned and i will continue ton pursue it in the future.”

This colorful beaded necklace by Dodee Black received the Award for Excellence in Jewelry.
Betsey Von Dreele received the Award for Textile Art for this textile landscape.
Plein Air painter Joseph Terrone exhibited his paintings and building in a solo show in the Homestead Gallery. Titled “Mindfulness,” Terrone says in his artist statement “The experience of painting on location has enhanced ny appreciation for nature. I try to keep things simple, state the what is necessary and leave it here.”

The Rehoboth Art League held an opening reception for three exhibits June 16.
In the Corkran and Tubbs galleries the 44th Annual Fine Craft Exhibition was held. This exhibition showcases a wide variety of fine crafts including baskets, ceramics, fiber, glass, handmade paper, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media and wood, created by members.
In the Ventures Gallery, painter Gordon Inyard exhibited his painting in a show titled “Diners and Roadside Attractions.”
In the Homestead, painter Joseph Terrone displayed his plein air paintings in a show titled “Mindfulness.”
