RAL hosts annual Young at Art reception

The recipients of the James Kenneth Derrickson Memorial Scholarship gathered at the awards ceremony. This award includes tuition-free RAL classes for one year. Art teachers from each school select an artist to receive this award. The Rehoboth Art League opened its 21st Annual Young at Art exhibition March 18 in the Corkran and Tubbs Gallery. Schools and outreach centers from throughout Sussex County participated in the exhibition. The 26 schools, from elementary to high schools, competed for cash awards and scholarships to RAL classes.

Being chosen for the exhibition by their art teachers was an award in itself for the students. Representatives from the Delaware College of Art and Design presented scholarship awards to Sussex County students during the opening of the exhibition.
