RD38 GOP to host local industry representatives March 24

March 19, 2025

The 38th District Republican Club will meet at 5:30 p.m., Monday, March 24, at Grotto Pizza, 793 Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach.

Attendees will hear from two Delawareans aiming to introduce more industry and jobs to Sussex County. Attendees can listen to their proposals and learn what they can offer to Sussex County residents.

Dr. Andrew Cottone from Aternium, previously known as First State Hydrogen, is a chemist and a successful multimillion-dollar entrepreneur whose company is currently focused on hydrogen production. His company aims to establish the industry in Delaware, particularly in Sussex County. He said the initiative could result in numerous high-paying technical jobs in the local region, with plans to offer training through Delaware Tech and Delaware State University.

Rick Chamberlin will discuss Delaware's first aquaculture oyster hatchery, its initial challenges and the rationale behind creating it, and plans for expansion.

The 38th District Republican Club meets the fourth Monday of every month and is open to new members.
