Reading the Cape Gazette at Stonehenge’s ring of standing stones
Not long ago, Cape Gazette readers Chris and Mike Kelly of Lewes enjoyed touring England & Scotland.
They visited London, Bath, Liverpool, York and Edinburgh in Scotland.
Here they are shown at Stonehenge, a prehistoric monument in Wiltshire, England.
“Some of what we learned was that Stonehenge is over 5,000 years old,” said Mike. “It was created by people who left no written records, it could have been a burial ground and even more interesting that some of the stones were brought from nearly 200 miles away. Stonehenge attracts more than a million visitors a year. Our trip was very exciting and busy, but we still found time to read our Cape Gazette.”
