Nine athletes from Rehoboth Beach Barbell Club competed March 28 at the 2021 USA Powerlifting Virginia March Open in Tysons, Va., where seven athletes placed in the top 3 in their respective divisions.
Winning gold were Mindy Hete (54) in the Women's Masters 2a 52kg division, Katy Jensen (37) in the Women's Open 76kg division, Danica Paul (43) in the Women's Masters 1a 84+ division, Jeffrey Wood (41) in the Men's Masters 1a 93kg division, and Shelby Haughey (43) in the Women's Masters 1a 69kg division. Taking silver medals were Julie Cullen (35) in the Women's Open 76kg division and Will Harris (34) in the Men's Open 93kg division.
Haughey also set Delaware state Women's Open 69kg division records for the squat, bench press and deadlift.
