Rehoboth Beach earns award for distinguished budget presentation

November 24, 2024

For the fourth year in a row, the City of Rehoboth Beach has been presented with the Government Finance Officers Association Distinguished Budget Presentation Award. This year’s award recognizes the city’s 2025 fiscal year budget.

According to GFOA, the award represents a significant achievement and an organization’s commitment to attaining the highest principles of governmental budgeting. To earn GFOA recognition, budget documents must meet program criteria and serve effectively as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide and communications device. An agency must be rated as proficient in all four categories and meet the 14 mandatory criteria within those categories.

City Finance Director Burt Dukes said Rehoboth Beach is one of a few municipalities in Delaware to receive the honor. Nationwide, more than 1,700 government organizations received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award this year.

The city’s budget for fiscal year 2025, which ends March 31, is available on the city’s website at cityofrehoboth.com.
