Cloudy skies turned blue for the Rehoboth Beach Farmers Market when it opened for its 20th season May 6.

Market Master Pat Coluzzi started the venture in 2006. She said it’s turned into a fun community gathering spot.

“I love it here. This is my happy place, and it’s everybody else’s happy place too,” said Coluzzi.

The market kicked off in its traditional manner – Henry DeWitt walked the grounds playing his bagpipes before ending at the market’s welcoming table, where Coluzzi rang a cowbell to mark the opening of the season.

There are roughly three dozen vendors this year offering food, fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, coffee, jams and jellies, desserts, seedlings for gardens and more.

Coluzzi said the market will celebrate its 20th year near the end of the season.

The Rehoboth Beach Farmers Market is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesdays, through October in Grove Park near the Rehoboth Avenue traffic circle. For more information, go to rbfarmersmarket.com or the market’s Facebook page for weekly updates.
