Rehoboth Beach getting ready for summer season
Parking season in Rehoboth Beach is just around the corner, which means the city is in full getting-ready-for-summer mode.
In advance of the meters being turned on, and in an effort to make parking easier, city officials have marked the entrances of the 30-minute spots around town. In the past, among the more frequent complaints by visitors is that the signage for the 30-minute spots wasn’t visible enough, which led to vehicles pulling in and then having to pull out.
The city’s downtown water towers have also been cleaned up for the summer. A crew recently power-washed the water tower near city hall and has since moved on to painting the water tower on Lincoln Street.
Also, during a city commissioner workshop April 8, Interim City Manager Evan Miller said foot wash stations on the Boardwalk are being prepared, catch basins cleaned, bike racks and trash cans replaced, and the beach rakes fine-tuned.
“May is upon us, so preparations for the new season are in full swing within the streets department and across the city,” said Miller.
