Following a recommendation from the animal issues committee, Rehoboth Beach has installed five dog waste bag stations.

During a commissioner workshop June 5, City Manager Laurence Christian announced five stations had been installed – two in Grove Park and three along the walking path of Lake Gerar.

The committee recommended the installation of the stations in response to a growing number of dogs and a lack of ways to clean up after them.

The stations may only be in two areas, but there are dog-related regulations that apply to all parts of the city – dogs are not allowed on the Boardwalk or beach May 1 through Sept. 30; dogs are always supposed to be leashed; fines can be issued.
