The Rehoboth Beach Police Department held its annual awards banquet April 10 at Salero in the Henlopen Hotel.

The Officer of the Year Award went to Pfc. Devin Maciejewski for distinguishing himself as one of the most well-rounded and productive members of the department in 2025. He also received the DUI Enforcement Award.

“From the very beginning, he demonstrated a strong desire to learn, grow and gain as much experience as possible. He consistently sought out opportunities to handle calls, take on new challenges and remain proactive in enforcement while never sacrificing the quality of his work,” said Capt. Jaime Riddle during the announcement. “His efforts resulted in him finishing as the top statistical performer of the year.”

The Civilian of the Year Award went to Katie Stachowski, a communications specialist for the city’s dispatch center, because of her exceptional performance on the control board. She also played a critical role in the dispatch center’s reaccreditation process by working across all three disciplines to help guide the agency’s communication center through a complex and demanding achievement.

The Life Saving Award went to Pfc. Rocco Esposito for an ocean rescue that took place in early May, which is before lifeguards are on duty.

Carol Everhart, former Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce president, was presented with a Special Recognition of Service award for her more than three decades of promoting Rehoboth Beach and for working with the police department.

The banquet also featured a listing of officer promotions throughout 2025: officer Curtis Sauve was promoted to sergeant; officer Brian Reynolds was promoted to corporal, grade 1; and officers Marie Fuller, Timothy Chan and Esposito were each promoted to patrolman first class.

Communications Specialist II Gregory Tietmeyer was recognized for 20 years of service June 27, 2025.
