To mark the International Day of Yoga, Rehoboth Beach Yoga Center is celebrating the occasion with a free yoga class at 9 a.m., Saturday, June 21, at 20245 Bay Vista Road, Unit 101, Rehoboth Beach.
The class is appropriate for beginners and experienced students alike. Svaroopa yoga is an approachable style of yoga that creates immediate change with minimal effort.
Svaroopa yoga releases tension in the muscles around the spine. That release happens because of precise alignments in the pose. Support from blankets and blocks, and time to soften into the pose help.
When there is a core release of tension, students stand taller, breathe easier, experience less pain and feel more joy.
The International Day of Yoga was established in 2014 by the United Nations to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga, and it is celebrated on the summer solstice every year.
