Rehoboth Drawbridge and Grove Park in March 1970

May 5, 2020

Lloyd Teitsworth and Dee Andrews made this aerial photograph over Rehoboth Beach in March of 1970 showing the drawbridge at the entrance to Rehoboth Beach.

The photo shows the Grove Park trailer park in the upper right-hand corner and the brick ice house along the south side of the park which is now home to the Rehoboth Beach Museum. To the left of the ice house and the adjacent white building is the portion of the overgrown canalfront bank where construction has now begun on the Grove Park Dock Project.

This photo is one of hundreds made in 1970 for the Project Delaware initiative designed to create an aerial pictorial of the state’s prominent features, from north to south, in that year.
